New Assistant Principal at Stephen Decatur Elementary School

The MSD of Decatur Township welcomes Christopher Low as Assistant Principal at Stephen Decatur Elementary School

(August 9, 2023) – INDIANAPOLIS – We are Decatur Proud to announce that Mr. Christopher Low was School Board approved as the new Assistant Principal at Stephen Decatur Elementary School at the August 8th 2023 meeting. Mr. Low brings a wealth of experience as a teacher, STEAM Coordinator, and Instructional Coach at Ossian, Weisser Park, and Waynedale Elementary Schools, and as an Assistant Language Teacher in Japan. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Japanese Language and Culture from Ball State University and both a Graduate Certificate in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in School Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University. Mr. Low shared, “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to serve the students, staff, and Decatur Township community.” He added, “I’m also extremely excited about the innovative approach to literacy developing at Stephen Decatur Elementary School and throughout the district, and I’m looking forward to helping students grow as individuals and community members through reading.” Originally from Decatur, Indiana, Mr. Low has also lived in Muncie, Fort Wayne, and near Tokyo, Japan. He and his wife celebrated 20 years of marriage this past June and have a daughter in middle school. Mrs. Low is proud to join the Decatur Middle School Staff as an English/Language Arts Teacher. Additionally, Mr. Low loves to play soccer, read, travel, spend time with family and friends, and practice taekwondo and judo.
