Jefferson Awards Foundation Names Decatur Central Student as LEAD 360 Project National Finalist

Six months ago, Decatur Central’s Morgan Wade met two foster kids and learned that they had been separated from their siblings and placed in new homes without a single belonging. She wanted to help. Morgan’s BIG IDEA is to send care packages to foster kids that include items such as toys, coloring books, toothbrushes, stuffed animals, and blankets. The care packages are designed to offer a sense of hope that someone is rooting for them.

Morgan Wade’s “Fostering Care” project is one of 15 national finalists in the LEAD 360 BIG IDEA contest sponsored by the Jefferson Awards Foundation. 3 winners will be announced in March. The winning projects will be publicized and made available for anyone to replicate.  Voting is open to the general public, online at http://lead360.jeffersonawards.org/social-voting/. People can vote once a day, per device until March 2.
