DC Food Drive Begins November 5

DC Food Drive Begins November 5

Decatur Central High School is collecting food to stock up their food pantry (driven by the DCHS Choice Academy) for the upcoming holiday.  The food collected for the pantry will be used to create Thanksgiving baskets for families in the Decatur Township community.  The goal is to make 20 Thanksgiving meal baskets for 20 different families.  Students involved are thankful for any and all support as they strive to do for others.  Food will be collected during CCR time - students should bring items to their CCR class and items will then be collected from CCR teachers.  As incentive, the CCR class that collects the most food items will win a pizza party on the Friday before Thanksgiving break.

A wish list for the Thanksgiving baskets include:

Turkey (frozen)

Ham

Canned items - cranberry sauce, green beans, corn, and yams

Cabbage

Instant mashed potatoes

Macaroni and Cheese (box)

Stuffing (box/dried)

Fruit

Cakes and Pies
