Decatur Central HS will be celebrating Homecoming Week next week! There will be many activities in which our students, staff, and community may participate and show their Decatur pride. The article below will highlight homecoming events!
Lip Sync Battle Info:
We will be having the 2nd Edge Lip Sync Battle during CCR on Wed. 9-20-17 in the auditorium. ANY STUDENT WANTING TO PARTICIPATE IN THE BATTLE NEEDS TO BRING Mrs. Tate $2.00 AND SONG BY THIS FRIDAY! Any student wanting to attend will need to PURCHASE a ticket from their CCR teacher now throughTuesday, 9/19. Students must have a ticket to attend the contest on the 20th. The top 3 winners will advance to the final round that will be battled during the pep session on Friday!
CCR Contests:
Candy donations: Please collect bags of candy from your CCR classes for Safe Halloween.
The CCR class that brings in the most candy will receive a LONGS Donut Party. We will collect the bags of candy from each CCR on Friday morning. Each bag of candy will also give the representing class a Spirit point as well.
Door decoration contest: We will be having a door competition! The doors will be judged on Friday morning. The winning CCR door will be announced during the pep session. The winning class will win tickets to the football game that night. The theme is DC in Hollywood (you can make it a Decatur Proud theme as well) Good Luck!
Pep Session:
We will be on a pep session schedule on Friday 9-22-17.
Parade:
All students are encouraged to participate in the parade on Friday. The lineup will begin at 4:30 at the DELC and the parade will begin at 5:00. The parade route will end at DCHS in plenty of time to cheer on the Hawks at the homecomeing game!
Voting for Homecoming Court:
All grades will nominate a boy and a girl from their classes on Naviance on Tuesday during CCR. Underclassmen- WILL NOT VOTE AGAIN- the boy and girl with the most nominations will be named the Prince and Princess for that class.
The SENIORS will vote again on Wednesday in CCR on Naviance. The top four boys and top four girls from the nominations will make up the Homecoming Court. The winner for the Senior Class will be named at half-time of the football game on Friday.

Monday- P.J. Day
Tuesday- Twin Day
Wed.- Class Color Day 9th- Blue, 10th- Red, 11th- Yellow, 12th- Black
Thursday- Disney Day
Friday- Blue and Gold Day
Students are asked to check in to earn Spirit Points for their class before school in the commons with the class sponsors. They MUST check-in BEFORE school in order to get their point each day! The winner of the Spirit Competition will be announced at the Pep Session on Friday.
