Decatur Township Students Continue to Support Others Through Volunteerism

1 Football Volunteers

On Saturday April 22nd eleven Decatur Central football Seniors participated in a food packing event at Mt. Pleasant Christian Church.  This was the opening event in a week long campaign called Change the World. Volunteers packaged over 400,000 meals to be shipped to a partner in Cuba to help feed the poor.  The Decatur Central seniors spent the morning as “heavy lifters” helping to refill rice bins via 50lb bags of rice, bins of soy meal via 30lb bags of soy, or taping and stacking fully packed boxes.  They were an awesome show of force as they put their brawn to great use for a good cause.  This is the 2nd year that Coach Enright has brought some football players to help in the event.  Great job DC Hawks!  We are #DecaturProud!
