Once again, students from Decatur Central High School took an adventure to our nation's capitol, Washington D.C. Choice Academy teacher Cim McClelland and Andy Hofer lead the charge, yearly, ensuring the safety and well being of our students. The group wanted to share a few photographs from the ninth senior trip in the past 10 years. Such wonderful students attend, and they had some amazing experiences this year.
The students were able to participate in a wreath ceremony at the tomb of the unknown soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery after the changing of the guard ceremony. Video is forthcoming so check back to the Choice Academy page! Another wonderful experience was that the students created toiletry packs to donate to veterans that are homeless in the nations capital. Students delivered them to a local mission. This year the group tried to dedicate many of the experiences to our community (local) VFW post 908 and American Legion post 64 to thank them for all they did to help the students fund raise to go on the trip. The MSD of Decatur Township community partnerships are much appreciated and enrich all in the township in many ways. We are #DecaturProud to have such a great community of people dedicated to the success of our students. Successful students equal successful community! Go Hawks!
