DCHS Band - GOLD!!

Over the weekend of February 26, your DCHS Band earned over 50 GOLD MEDALS at the STATE SOLO AND ENSEMBLE Contest held at North Central High School!

There were 2 students who earned A PERFECT SCORE  from COLLEGE PROFESSORS:

– Carlee Merkling (Marimba 11th gr.) and David Blevins ( Snare Drum 10th gr.)

Other honors include:

Indoor Winds 2nd place

Percussion 5th Place

And our DMS Guard earned 2nd place!!

What a thrill it is to hear of such success!  We are DecaturProud of our Hawk Bands.  Mr. Cox and his staff do an outstanding job with our incredibly talented musicians.  Decatur Central High School is truly a school that strives for excellence in all areas - academic and extra curricular.
