On Thursday, September 29th, the Decatur Central entire 9th grade group went to the Indiana Fairgrounds to an event called JAJobSpark. Companies in various career clusters had volunteers with a mock set up of what they do at their job each day. There were police vehicles, an ambulance, robotics, drones, semi-trucks, chemical labs, an operating room, agriculture, a construction zone, culinary kitchen and so much more where students had a hands on opportunity to learn more about careers based on their interests.
The goal was to provide Decatur Central students knowledge on a multitude of careers with varying levels of educational requirements and "spark" an interest in our students to help them find the connection between school and the world of work.
