Senior English teacher, Mrs. Kayla Kostecka, took her senior English students to the Candles Holocaust Museum in Terra Haute. They had a great experience! They met with Eva Kor, a survivor of Dr. Mengele's studies on twins in auschwitz. The students learned a lot and were able to bring that home and follow her advice by writing letters of forgiveness and researching injustices happening in the world.
The students were very moved by what she said and many of them bought her book. We are Decatur Proud of our students for representing Decatur Central well, and taking advantage of this unique learning opportunity!
