DCHS Jazz Ensembles to Compete at Purdue University

The Purdue Jazz Festival is the largest of its kind in the Midwest. Purdue will host over 80 High School and Middle School jazz ensembles this year. They also have several professional jazz musicians that will give clinics and concerts throughout the day. Our two curricular ensembles will be performing for a rating and will be judged by local university professors and world class musicians. Attending also provides the opportunity for our students to see other outstanding students performing from Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Illinois.

Last year, our top band won an award for outstanding Rhythm Section  (Piano, Bass and Drums).

This is the 15^th year the DC group will attend! We want to thank the DCHS band boosters for paying for our entrance fees and MSD Decatur for the Transportation.
