School Board Recognitions, October 4th, 2022

At the School Board Meeting on October 4, 2022, Officer Jejuan Westmoreland of the Decatur Township School Police, was recognized by Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Stephanie Hofer, as the Region 7 SRO (School Resource Officer) of the year from the Indiana School Resource Officers Association.  This award recognizes Officer Westmoreland for going above and beyond his normal duties as an SRO to enhance his school and community through the SRO philosophy of counselor, teacher, and law enforcement officer.  Officer Westmoreland lives this philosophy by leading students in activities during lunch and implementing a Leadership Academy at West Newton Elementary that is focused on the leadership principles consistent with the values of Decatur Township.  Congratulations to Officer Westmoreland! #DecaturProud

The School Board also approved Mr. Mike Nelson as the new Director of Facilities for the MSD of Decatur Township, and Mr. Christopher Hogan as Assistant Director of Facilities. Dr. Prusiecki, Superintendent, and the School Board Members recognized and congratulated both on their new appointments and look forward to all they will do to keep our schools in excellent condition.
