Officer Westmoreland Recognized as Region 7 SRO of the Year

Officer Jejuan Westmoreland of the Decatur Township School Police Department, was recently recognized by the Indiana School Resource Officer’s Association as the Region 7 SRO (Student Resource Officer) of the Year. Westmoreland was nominated by DTSPD Chief Terance Smith, who commended his engagement initiatives with elementary students. Officer Westmoreland enjoys leading students in activities during lunch such as games and chants. He also implemented a Leadership Academy at West Newton Elementary School, focused on leadership principles consistent with the values of Decatur Township.
