As you know, Decatur needs basic retail and move-up housing and the Comprehensive Plan is critical in us getting those things as Decatur continues to develop. The draft Decatur Township Comp Plan eliminates most spots for retail, puts warehouses south of Kentucky Ave, and increases housing density (both single family and apartments). We can get changes made, but only if we get many many voices to speak out. The City is offering 3 ways you can contribute your opinions.
ONE: The draft Comp Plan is now posted online : http://indygis.maps.arcgis.com/apps/CrowdsourceReporter/index.html?appid=9db564b5120844f588a49ec67706ea3d You can sign in with your Facebook or twitter account and leave comments, or you can sign in as a guest if you just want to review it.
TWO: The ONLY Public meeting on the draft Comprehensive Plan for Decatur Township has been announced. Wednesday, May 2 5:30 – 7:30 PM Decatur Central High School Cafeteria This meeting is the ONLY meeting set up for the community to come together and give our opinions. Put this on your calendar, and talk with everyone you know, asking that they, too, show up.
THREE: Wednesday, May 2 10 AM - 1 PM Dunkin Donuts on Kentucky Ave, just south of Camby Rd. This is a ‘walk-in and discuss’ opportunity that anyone can take advantage of, regardless of whether you attend the Public Meeting that evening or leave comments online.
Thanks, Pat Andrews Chair,
